We are BORING!

Along with calling my class "Blogging Club", as I was working on my blog between class dates, Daniel asked me why I was doing a blog anyway, since "we are so boring, there will never be anything to write about". Well, there you have it. Out of the mouth of babes. Problem is...He is so right! That's OK. Boring is OK with me.

The "Best Week Ever"--

In Utah, 15 year olds can now get their learner's permit as soon as they are 15. Instead of 15 and 7 months like Jed, Mellissa and Porter. So....Daniel got to get his permit, on Tuesday, April 28th. Luckily the DMV people were here until 4 pm. They used to only stay until 1 or 2 pm. I thought we would miss them because I don't get off work until 2:30. So Daniel has been the Chauffer around here...at least with me in the car.

He had also applied for his first summer job a few weeks ago. He applied to be a life guard at the Kanab City Pool. This Pool only opened last 4th of July, very new and nice. Well he found out at the end of the week that he had been picked to be a life guard and got the job.

He was driving the next week, and said to me, "last week was the BEST WEEK EVER!". I asked him why it was so great. He replied that he had his birthday, got his permit to drive and found out he got his first job, all in the same week. It WAS the BEST WEEK EVER.

"Blogging Club"

Uncle Ben called while I was at the blogging class I posted about earlier that my friend taught at the local Technical college. Daniel answered the phone, and told him I had gone to "Blogging Club". Did any of you know it's a "Club"? Ben got a big kick out of that, now I just learned my friend is going to teach an advanced blogging class. I am definitely going to take it! Does that mean I am going to "Super Blogging Club"? LOL, priceless.

Happy Birthday Daniel!

Daniel turned 15 years old today! How did this happen? Time flies too fast! My friend Kim Blake called, her step-son Kalin had a birthday around the same time, so we decided to have a joint birthday party at their house. It was supposed to be a "Girl-Boy" party, but none of the girls showed up, much to Daniel and Kalin's dismay! LOL! They played football in their huge backyard, ate hot dogs & chips, then ran amuck around the neighborhood as Kim and I worried about them. When they got back from galavanting, they played "Focker Ball" out front. Don't know what Focker Ball is? I didn't either until Porter came home one night and mentioned he and his friends had been playing it, and I found a wadded up t-shirt in a ball on his chest of drawers. Focker ball is where you get a t-shirt, wad it up in a ball and tie it like that somehow, you soak it with gasoline, light it on fire then kick it around like a soccer ball. Who thought this very safe game up? I have no idea! But if your boys t-shirts start disappearing, you'll know why.

Winter Sports Awards Banquet...& Nate's Birthday!

Tonight was the Winter Sports Awards Banquet. Porter and Daniel both did Wrestling. Unfortunately the Banquet was held on Nate's Birthday! He didn't seem to mind we all went and had dinner without him...He only required that I buy him Chinese food for him to eat for dinner! This is Porter's Last year for wrestling, a little bitter-sweet for us, since this is his THING. He really loves it and did really well this year. He made it to State and that was his goal. He really would have like to place at State, but it wasn't in the cards. They have two of the greatest coaches, Brandon Stubbs and Kelly Stapely. They have really put in some hard work and it is showing in the wrestling team at Kanab High. They really had a Great year! Congratulations Porter and Dan!
