I'm gonna Be a GRANDMA!!!

I'm heading up to Layton today. Mellissa's doctor is going to start her. It's called a two-stage induction. They will put her in the hospital tonight, insert something in her cervix to help it soften all the way, then start the Pitosin in the morning. We should have a baby by tomorrow afternoon! We still don't know if it is a boy or a girl. Mellissa and Chuck have been calling it a "He" the whole time, they say that they don't want to call their baby an "it". So they just chose "He". It has been interesting, you never know for sure what you are going to have, My last three boys are testiment to that! (Dr. Carter said all three of them were girls :) So I have tried to really get a feeling one way or another what this baby will be, and nothing! Until I was sewing this last couple of weeks. I was running out of time and every time I went to sew something for a girl, I just kept feeling like I was wasting my time. So I kept going back to the boys things. I now think it is a boy. We'll see soon enough I guess! I can hardly wait, I am so excited I can't stand it!!!!! Yahoo!

His boss has told me he does a very good job.
It's fun to see him so grown up and be excited about something.

Of course he is the Cutest guard there!
A mother's opinion counts!
Porter is kinda bugged that Daniel "Only makes $1 an hour less than
him, gets to look at girls all day AND get a tan!
While he trudges through poop and pee all day!"
(He works for a plumber here in town)
I told him to go take lifeguard training and he
can look at the girls and get a tan too.

It's been a few years, but we finally put a garden in this year.
Everything is coming up really well. Jim has three hoses
running out there for us to water with!
Otherwise it would take forever to water. It really helps.

our Very first peppers coming on!

The corn made it out of the ground! Grow little guys! Grow!

Here is the First Squash blossom...we just may have vegetables yet!

It never ceases to amaze me when things I plant grow.
I am the typical un-green thumb.
It really is a good feeling to see things grow so well,
and know your hard work will eventually pay off.
Before when we have grown gardens, our kids have been
a lot younger, and it was a trial for me to get out there
and weed, much less get the watering done.
This time, I am really enjoying just being out there while I water,
the solitude and the therapy that weeding is.
(I finally get what Molly sees in gardening)
I can ignore the telephone, and just love the silence. My boys are self sufficient,
I don't have little ones needing my every attention. That really helps
me be able to devote some time to the things that will make this succeed....But
I really feel Heavenly Father is blessing us, just because we are trying to do this.

Meet Two of our Orphans....

Blackie, one of our cats had babies about the third week of March.
She has always been a very peculiar cat. She would never let us near her,
even though we fed her and had raised her from a kitten. She was pretty much a feral cat that
lived at our house. I had taken Tiger and Snickers in to be fixed, and even though I
had an appointment for Blackie, I never could catch her...the rest is history.
It was really weird, we finally had decided that she WAS indeed
pregnant, and she had them a week later!
Blackie would never let us pet the kittens. She had 4, a grey boy, a black boy,
a black girl and then this striped girl. We kept searching for them, when we would find them,
she would move them again. Eventually, she moved them under this big pile of wood
we have in the back yard, and we could never find them.
She never was a very good mother to them. I would find her sunning on the car port, and
wondered where those little cats were, hoping they were still alive.
The kittens finally started venturing out of the hiding place.
I think they were getting hungry. They had nursed nearly 2.5 months!
We were able to catch the grey and black boys. We tamed them down some,
and the MacDonald kids wanted them. So we got rid of those two.
We finally caught the striped one, but could never get the last black one.
Finally, we were able to catch her, she tamed down the easiest of all of them.
We named the Striped one Bengal, Jim thinks she looks like a Bengal Tiger.
The Black one we named Snowflake. I told Jim and the Kids, I got
to name the last black one, because I never get to name any of our pets.
So I teased them all by saying I wanted to name her something like
"Beautiful Sparkly Princess" or "Fluffy" or "Velvet Glitter Cloud".
They all groaned! I knew they wouldn't like any of those names,
they were to 'Girly'! I do stuff like that because I know the boys
will hate it! I had fun teasing them though. Truth is...I was not
coming up with anything! So Jim came up with Snowflake.
She is Midnight black....but her name is Snowflake.
I tease the boys sometimes and just call her "Diamond Sparkly Snowflake"!
