My Daughter is Married!

Mellissa became Mrs. Charles Sheya on July 5, 2008. She was the MOST BEAUTIFUL Bride. The Groom didn't look too shabby either! With my arm broken, I couldn't do my hair, so Bobbi helped Mellissa and my sister-in-law Amber came and helped me with mine. I was sooo greatful! But, being me, I made Mellissa 15 minutes late. She was not happy with me! But when we got to the Temple, there was a fire engine and police there. Some alarm had gone off and they had cleared the building to have it checked out. About 20 min later, they let the Brides and Grooms and their escorts in to go get ready. It was really weird seeing Firemen with their full gear on in the temple. A little out of place. So, the Temple was behind about a half hour and it wasn't my fault! So, I think Mellissa forgave me a little for that one. We weren't even late at all! Epilogue: Apparently someone was stuck in an elevator and pulled an alarm. So...no fire in the Logan Temple today.

Well we've finally done it!

We have entered the blogging age! Amazing! I decided to do a blog because I would like to use it as a journal of sorts. I am not a good journal writer, but I do type fast! I like to do journaling, I just can't write as fast as I'd like, and you can go back and change what you've written if it doesn't come out just right, or I'd like to say it in another way. Another reason is I do take time most days to sit at the computer.

I broke my arm June 28, one week (& grandma Bowman's b-day) before Mellissa got married on July 5. So we have had a busy month here in Trucking land. Jim had gone to pick up his new end dump trailer in Missouri when I broke my arm, so he was gone and as soon as he got back We went and met him in Aurora so he could have his truck worked on while we were in Logan/Layton for the week doing wedding stuff. He hadn't been home for about a month, because the Uranium Ore he has been hauling finally took off and they needed to get the ore stocked. Busy times, busy times.

Mellissa got engaged in the middle of March when she brought Charles Matthew Sheya home for spring break. I thought July would be "forever" away, but it snuck up on us fast. When she had gone back to school in the fall, the art department announced they would be doing a semester abroad in Switzerland. She has always wanted to do study abroad for as long as I can remember. So she got it all arranged. She left June 1st and returned July 1st, just in time to get married July 5th. Chuck and Mellissa wanted to get married about the middle of July, but the Temples all close during July for cleaning. July 5th was the last day they could be married in the Logan temple before August. They said they were NOT waiting until August! So they got married July 5, and we had the reception July 19th here in Kanab. It turned out really well. I'll post more about that later.
